So I have been silent for some time now. The last one week has been all about resume writing, frantic research to finalize a 4th school and for the last 2 days, research on the 1st school for which I will write essays.
My schedule is:
10 Days for each school - 2 days for research and 8 days for essay writing
Once I am finished, I will have about 5-6 days for each school to review, revise and submit the final applications.
I am really getting the jitters now - more than for GMAT. For some reason, essay writing has always given me the jitters even though some people say that I have a natural flair for writing. What is also making me anxious is that I am finally applying to my dream schools and this is my only chance - I am not the types who believe in second tries. Once done, once rejected, move on.
I have been dreaming about an MBA from a top school for almost 7-8 years now. I did not even write CAT for IIMs (while all my friends did and got in) because I knew that I wanted this path.
Time is flying really fast. Wish me best of luck.

All the best dear.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wishes :). When is your test?
ReplyDeleteIts on 2nd September. My target score is 740 but hvnt got more than any 720 in mock test. The latest was MGMAT - 720 (Q48, V40). Can you tell me what is the difficulty level of quants in the real GMAT - is it close to MGMAT or higher than that or lower than that. Also what would be your advice for the final few weeks left for prep.
ReplyDeleteI need all the advice I can get :)
Well difficult to say. Do you know what your weak areas are? To me it seems like Quants is something which you can improve quickly. The simple advice would be work on specific areas which are pulling your score down.
ReplyDeleteyeah I tend to make silly mistakes in quant specially DS. Also, when I dnt solve the problem, I tend to overlook an important aspect and when I solve even the DS, time management becomes an issue. I dnt feel any concept wise weakness in Quants as such (thats the pain area coz if I were weaker in certain concept, I can improve that).
ReplyDeleteAs far as verbal is concerned, CR is the pain area. I have observed that for all the problems I get wrong, I am able to come to 2 possible options and after battling (read spending time) a while, I almost always tick the wrong one. I guess more practice will sharpen my sense here.
I am working on the stuff....lets hope for the best. Will update you once am done with my exam.
Phoenix,
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying your blog posts. I'm the editor-in-chief of Poets&Quants and would love to republish some of your posts on my site with links back to your blog. Let me know if that would be okay.
Thanks,
